COVID-19 Pandemic Response

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a lot of changes in how the Fenton Center of Hope serves the community.

The unusual circumstances of the Covid-19 Pandemic have caused an increase in needs in the community. Under normal circumstances the food pantry operates as a little grocery store where clients can take a shopping cart and choose what they want. With social distancing that’s had to change. All of our normal clients now drive up in the parking lot where their groceries are delivered directly to their car trunk with no person-to-person contact. In addition to these normal clients we’re also serving many more because of the crisis, delivering food primarily with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Community Care Task Force.

Genesee County Sheriff, Chris Swanson announced a new task force to help deal with needs in the community due to the Coronavirus. The goal of the Community Care Task Force is to reach parts of the community that are in need during the Coronavirus outbreak.
