Food Pantry and Facilities Manager
NOW HIRING
Fenton Center of Hope – On Site
20 hours per week - Up to $20 per hour
The Center of Hope serves as a vital resource for families and individuals in need. It provides a range of services aimed at strengthening the community, including the Free Choice Market food pantry and the Parenting Program and Baby Closet. Center of Hope also offers mentoring, counseling, and life-skills education, aiming to help people move beyond temporary hardships to long-term stability.
The Food Pantry Manager oversees daily operations of our food pantry, the Free Choice Market, ensuring it is organized, well-stocked, compliant, and provides a clean, dignified experience for every guest. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on management of inventory, volunteers, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Oversee daily pantry operations
- Ensure products are well displayed, rotated, and date-checked
- Adjust shopping limits based on inventory and demand
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shopping environment
Inventory & Deliveries
- Manage inventory levels and maintain consistent stock
- Organize and maintain backstock areas
- Oversee frozen and meat inventory in walk-in freezer
- Receive and process weekly deliveries from Gleaners
Compliance & Food Safety
- Maintain all Gleaners policies, procedures, and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Obtain and maintain ServSafe certification
Volunteers
- Train and oversee pantry stocking volunteers
- Schedule shifts and ensure proper coverage
- Work with Volunteer Coordinator to meet staffing needs
Partnerships & Communication
- Attend Gleaners meetings and conference calls
- Meet with leadership to review operations and needs
Food Drives & Equipment
- Coordinate food drives and donation campaigns
- Maintain and clean pantry equipment (including freezers)
Facilities Management
- Oversees cleaning and light maintenance of property, inside and out
- Manages contractors and volunteers in associated tasks
Qualifications
- Grocery inventory and stocking experience
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Ability to manage volunteers and daily operations
- Detail-oriented with a focus on food safety and inventory
- Able to lift 40–50 lbs
- Basic computer skills
- ServSafe certified (or willing to obtain)

- Pantry runs smoothly and stays fully stocked
- Inventory is accurate and organized
- Volunteers are reliable and well-managed
- All safety and compliance standards are met
- Guests experience a clean, welcoming environment
